How to add a Website Link in Excel

Microsoft excel has a great Hyperlink function which allows you to link to websites, other worksheets and workbooks!
It’s very easy to do and all you need is this simple piece of code to do it –

=HYPERLINK(“add the link address here”,“and add the name of the link here”)

The link address is URL of a website that you want to link to and the link name is the text you want to appear on the spreadsheet.

e.g. =HYPERLINK(“http://www.exceltraining.org.uk/”,“Excel Training”)

On the spreadsheet only a hyper link containing the words ‘Excel Training’ will appear. Once clicked it will open up your internet browser and take you straight to the chosen site, in this case – http://www.exceltraining.org.uk/.

Don’t forget – both the URL and the link name MUST be between the “ ”
